I’ve been tethered to Simon for what feels like a bloody eternity. We’ve had years of shared business jaunts, a stag do that still haunts my nightmares, and the occasional awkward family do. But nothing, and I mean nothing, has scorched my retinas quite like the night I had to pry him loose from a ladyboy siege, seven Singha Towers deep, right in the sweaty heart of Khao San Road, Thailand.

Petty extortion fantasies aside, we’ve had some absolute bangers of nights out in Asia. Simon, in his rare sober moments, might not agree. Though clearly, he loved it enough to birth a whole website about it. And voilà, here it is: Asia Sex Scene.
As his long-suffering mule, I’ve come along for the ride. My work here is mostly combing through city and country guides, burying myself ball-deep in complex sex work laws and trying to translate Mandarin.
The Asian adult industry is massively different to what I’m used to covering in Europe.
To see it in person is sensory overload. One minute you’re dodging tuk-tuks and street vendors hawking knockoff Viagra; the next, you’re doing belting out Sweet Caroline in a blowjob bar. It’s chaotic, it’s disorganised, it’s bewildering. And it’s all part of the charm.
Truth be told, the madness only covers patches of Asia. Massive swathes of the continent are as dry as a nun’s knickers.
We’ve done our best to ditch the dull bits, sidestepping countries and cities where the red light action is too tame to bother with. Trust me, though; there are still heaps of NSFW mischief to uncover in the juicy spots!
